Today we celebrate the 8th birthday of this guy.   

I have to admit that this picture makes me tear up.  How quickly time passes and the little ones become the big ones.  Saying that DJ is 8 doesn't hit me hard, it's looking at pictures like these that makes me pause.  
Doesn't he look so analytical?  He is - studies, pays attention and then talks about what he thinks or has observed. I don't often realize how much he pays attention to details until we discuss what is going on in his head.   

He is a sweet boy who continues to amaze us with his knowledge, creativity and excitement about learning.
