Exploring

Some scheduled family time to celebrate the end of the school was an opportunity to explore, get wet and step away from busy life.  We first visited Starved Rock State Park two years ago for a school project, but there was major flooding that spring which limited our access to all the trails and canyons. Now that the kids are bigger the adventure and exploring has changed. They each set out on their own path to find a way across the stones.

I stayed on dry ground or took the easier paths across the water.  My fun came in the form of taking photos of the kids and beautiful scenery or watching them navigate a new path. I explored like this when I was young and I kept my mouth shut so they could go free without restrictions or rules too.

I was trying to capture how far up the canyon they had climbed, not sure the perspective is the best here.
